Munds Energy, Inc. provides safe and reliable bulk liquid transportation service to businesses ranging from convenience store operators and grocers to refineries and pipeline terminals, road contractors and local jobbers. We transport butane, propane, natural gasoline and other LPG products - liquid asphalt, gasoline and diesel fuel, and ethanol.
Munds Energy, Inc. is the new name of the business founded by Gene Vannaman. Since 1951, the Munds and Vannaman families have served customers throughout the Midwest. Gene joined Groendyke Transport as a fleet operator while, at the same time, operating as an independent oil jobber seeking to transport motor fuel. In 1966, Gene’s son-in-law, John Munds joined the business following a career as a high school math teacher and basketball coach. They partnered forming V & M Transport while continuing as a fleet operator.
In the Fall of 1981, John became the sole shareholder immediately setting priorities and stands of safety. During the first five years under Munds’ leadership, V & M operated without a preventable accident. From that leadership came a tradition of serving customers well while operating in a manner of protecting life, property and the environment. That tradition has proudly endured over the past 40 years. An early adopter of modern safety equipment, V & M frequently traveled many millions of consecutive miles and nearly reaching 12 million consecutive accident-free miles. Pride and professionalism run deep among our drivers, with over 50 current and former drivers personally driving more than one million accident-free miles. Some drivers have driven as much as two and even three million safe miles.
Launched in December 2021 by brothers Mark and Greg Munds, Munds Energy continues to serve customers with the same pride, professionalism and tradition, but has the ability to adapt to the ever-changing challenges of business today. In addition to the more than 30 years of experience managing the family business, the brothers have acquired the tacit knowledge growing up in the tank truck business. They’ve worked since a young age under the tutelage of their grandfather and father.
